Mediterranean Garden Reaches Maturity
Creative
Landscapes took out the high-maintenance grass and planted a
drought-tolerant Mediterranean-style garden at this Portland
home. We continue to make periodic visits to the garden and
throughout the course of a year we've seen our creative vision
manifest itself as the plantings come to maturity. We’ve
trimmed some plants back, moved a few specimens and added spring
bulbs to the mix. The garden is a dynamic project that continues
to evolve each season. Of note is that during the long summer
of 2003, the garden only needed to be watered 8 times—a
testament to appropriate plant choices and careful planning
and preparation.
