Japanese Maple Gets a Bonsai-Inspired Makeover
This mature
Japanese maple on a Lake Oswego estate had become overgrown.
Creative Landscapes gave the tree a thinning and shaping using
arborist's standards to eliminate dead wood and crossing branches
and encourage healthy growth.
Our other considerations were purely aesthetic. Trained in the
Japanese art of bonsai, we opened up the branch structure to
expose the tree’s dramatic beauty. Our goal was to transform
the shaggy maple into a healthy tree with a striking natural
silhouette.
