A Mediterranean
garden in Northeast Portland

Many of our clients in Portlands central residential
neighborhoods are choosing to take out a traditional lawn
and install a Mediterranean-inspired garden. These drought-tolerant
gardens are an ideal cholce in our moderate climate with its
cool rainy winters and hot summers.
After taking out the lawn at this bungalow, Creative Landscapes
prepared the soil, created a structure for the garden with
rustic boulders, and installed gravel paths. The plants were
chosen for their distinctive, contrasting foliages, as well
as their flowers, so that there will be visual interest throughout
the year. As the garden has matured, we've moved some of the
plants and added bulbs to create dramatic vignettes of flowers,
foliage, and hardscape.
